After capturing the attention of hoards of local art enthusiasts, the intricate traditional Warli paintings created by Dahanu based tribal artist Vijay Vadu are now getting international recognition at an Australian Art Exhibition.
The exhibition, which started on September 10 at the Australian Darjeeling Tea and Maya Indian Art Gallery and will continue to attract art enthusiasts till December 10, includes 82 Warli paintings by Vijay Vadu. His paintings have also been kept in various exhibitions in India.
The Tribal Development Department is extremely proud of the efforts taken by Vijay Vadu to preserve the traditional Warli art and thus a part of the tribe’s culture and taking it to an international audience.
